The 4 R’s of the Environment | SCI CODE

Coma Niddy: Welcome to another episode of
SCI CODE! Michaela: As a kid, you’ve probably heard
of the 3 R’s. Reduce Reuse and Recycle. But did you know that there’s a 4th R? Refuse
Reduce Reuse and Recycle. Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling are great. But what if you just
didn’t generate trash to begin with? What if you went to the grocery store and instead
of cutting back on the plastic bags or turning them into something else you just said no
to begin with? It takes energy to make any product. And it takes energy to recycle them.
So one of the best ways to cut down on your waste it just by saying no to products that
you don’t really need or want. So imagine, you go to a party and there’s the cheap party
favor that you know is just going to break in 2 seconds-Refuse! Free samples that you
don’t even really want-JUST SAY NO! You’re at a work event and there are plastic cups,
bring your own. It’s so easy to refuse and refusing allows you to spend more time with
things you really love and less time trying to figure out what to do with your trash.
So remember next time you’re trying to be a friend to Mother Earth- Refuse Reduce Reuse
and Recycle. Coma Niddy: Coma Niddy here and I want to
hear your tips about sustainability in the comments below. Don’t forget to like this
video and subscribe to my channel. Thanks for watching SCI CODE!
