Video: Heavy rain for evening commute

KELLY ANN: GOOD TUESDAY MORNING. IT IS DRY NOW, BUT THE WORST OF
EVENING AND AFTERNOON. WATCH THAT HEAT AND HUMIDITY,
WHICH WILL BE ON THE RISE FOR
THE SECOND HALF OF THE WORKWEEK
HERE. AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND,
LOOKING A BIT UNSETTLED. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR
THUNDERSTORMS. RIGHT NOW, IT IS DRY LOCALLY,
BUT SHOWERS ARE TO OUR WEST,
ESPECIALLY AS YOU MOVE THROUGH
AREAS OF NEW YORK. WE ALSO HAVE AREAS THUNDERSTORMS
MOVING THROUGH FOR NORTHERN NEW
JERSEY AND MAKING ITS WAY ONTO
LONG ISLAND. AS WE TRACK THAT, IT BRINGS IT
INTO OUR AREA LATE THIS MORNING
INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. THE INITIAL PRELIMINARY SHOWERS. AS WE MOVE THROUGH THE TIMELINE,
BY THE MID AFTERNOON, THAT IS
WHEN SHOWERS START TO FILL IN
FOR OUR AREA. THIS TIMELINE IS STOPPED AT
3:00. AT THAT, WE HAVE DOWN FIRST
DEVELOPING TO OUR WEST. TRACKING THAT EASTWARD INTO OUR
AREA AS — FIVE, 6:00 THIS
EVENING, THAT WILL INTERFERE
WITH YOUR EVENING COMMUTE. PLAN ON BEING WET IN THOSE
ROADWAYS HEADING HOME FROM WORK. THE DOWNPOUR POTENTIAL CONTINUES
THROUGH LATER THIS EVENING. 8:00, 9:00, STILL A FEW
DOWNPOURS POSSIBLE WITH THE
POTENTIAL FOR RUMBLES OF THUNDER
AS WELL. FAST-FORWARD TO THE EVENING, THE
WORST OF IT WILL PULL AWAY. IF YOU’RE GOING TO THE RED SOX
GAME, THERE WILL LIKELY BE A
RAIN DELAY. THE RAIN WILL START TO LIGHTEN
UP AS WE HAD TO THE LATER
INNINGS. WE ARE AT 68 NOW WITH CLOUDS
FILLING IN. IT IS TURNING OVERCAST IN
WESTERN PORTIONS OF OUR AREA. TEMPERATURES WILL EVENTUALLY
CLIMB TO THE 70’S. THAT IS AS WARM AS IT WILL GET
AS CLOUDS PREVENT US FROM SEEING
MUCH OF A WARM UP, UNLIKE THOSE
80’S YESTERDAY. SHOWERS RUN INITIALLY TONIGHT. WE DRY OVERNIGHT. THAT WILL LEAVE PATCHY FOG, LOW
TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID
60’S. TOMORROW, HIGH TEMPERATURES IN
THE MID-80’S. THERE IS POTENTIAL HERE FOR
UPPER 80’S, EVEN NEAR 90 IN
SPRINGFIELD. ALONG THE COASTLINE, THE SEA
BREEZE KICKS IN, KEEPING US LOW
TO MID 70’S FOR THE CAPE AND
ISLANDS AND UPPER 70’S IN BOSTON
AND MUCH OF THE SOUTH COAST. SEVEN-DAY FORECAST INCLUDES THAT
HEAT IN PLACE TOMORROW. I HAVE THE FORECAST DRY, BUT
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FEW
SHOWERS TO DEVELOP TO OUR WEST. THAT MAY TRY TO PENETRATE AREAS
OF WORCESTER COUNTY TOMORROW
EVENING BEFORE FIZZLING OUT LATE
TOMORROW NIGHT. MOST OF THE DAY’S DRIVE. DO NOT CANCEL PLANS, BUT KEEP AN
EYE ON THE SKY IN THE EVENING. THURSDAY, A LITTLE HUMID, HIGH
TEMPERATURES IN THE MID-80’S. THE DEW POINTS — AS WE HEAD
INTO THURSDAY AFTERNOON, WE SEE
HUMIDITY LEVELS REACHING HIGH
WITH POINTS IN THE MID TO UPPER
60’S. HEAT IS ON THE RISE FOR FRIDAY. A FEW SPOTS COULD HIT 90. BY SATURDAY TRACKING ANOTHER
COLD FRONT THAT WILL BRING A
BETTER POTENTIAL FOR SHOWERS AND
STORMS PUSHING SOUTHWARD INTO
OUR AREA BEHIND THIS FRONT. WE’LL SEE THAT WIND KICK IN. TEMPERATURES WILL COOL DOWN A
BIT, UPPER 70’S TO LOW 80’S FOR
SUNDAY AND
